Performing Arts Center Eastside

In the value engineering process that followed the schematic estimate, MacDonald-Miller and CDi chose to work collaboratively, instead of independently, on identifying potential mechanical cost reductions. This process proved to work very well."

1501 Market Street Building: Service Improvement

"This was a very high profile project as the work necessitated having to terminate the power to the Regence Blue Shield computer room. Regence Blue Shield held meetings for over three months to plan for the impacts the computer room shut down would cause people in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Utah. As you can imagine, there was significant pressure to ensure that 'everything went well.'

I am pleased to say that everything did go well. Chris Hays was very helpful in planning for the project; Bryce Carmichael did an excellent job on site to complete the work. Due to the impact of shutting down power to the computer room, the panel replacement had to start at 1:00am on a Sunday morning and continue through the morning until completed. Having personally been on site during the project, I know the impacts this peculiar shift can cause and therefore have a unique appreciation for Bryce Carmichael's efforts.

I am used to getting good service from MacDonald-Miller but wanted to acknowledge this service as I felt your staff went above and beyond the call of duty to help us successfully complete this project."
