Accounting Specialist - Demand Service

Brief Task Description

It is the responsibility of the Accounting Specialist to perform billing functions for our service division. This position reports to the Accounting Department's Billing Manager.

The Accounting Specialist possessing the listed knowledge, skills, and abilities is accountable for the following:

  • Process weekly service billings, ensuring all labor and materials costs are correct
  • Scan all documents related these billings
  • Process and track all service subcontract billings
  • Process weekly service payroll
  • Photocopy, fax, file, organize, and maintain all paperwork connected with above-referenced tasks or other accounting tasks
  • Participate in department cross-training
  • Understand, accept, and support MacDonald-Miller's Operating Guidelines, Operational Beliefs, and Customer Commitment
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by Billing Manager
Qualification Requirements

The candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Previous billing experience is required
  • Previous payroll or other accounting experience preferred
  • Possess excellent ten-key skills and word process a minimum of 30 wpm
  • Proficient in using computers, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Prior experience using an accounting software program is a plus
  • Prior HVAC industry experience is a plus
  • Ability to consistently set goals, meet deadlines and adapt to flexible responsibilities
  • Ability to work closely with a variety of different personalities under minimum supervision
  • Ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere
  • Possess good verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and interpersonal skills
  • Project a friendly, professional attitude towards customers and co-workers
  • Good history of employment attendance

The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:

  • Ability to see, hear well (either naturally or with correction) and speak clearly
  • Coordinate the movement of your eyes, hands, and fingers
  • Physical requirements include: standing, bending, squatting, sitting and climbing
  • Reach for, handle, use fingers and manipulate objects
  • Frequent computer screen use
  • Sit for long periods of time
  • Must be capable of working extended hours when job/business needs demand
