The Shops at Arizona Center

This 299,410 sq. ft. design/build entailed creating a complete mechanical system for three buildings surrounding a common courtyard.
Project Overview
- The retail HVAC system consists of water-cooled air conditioning units in order to create an effective cooling system in the hot climate of Phoenix.
- The food court building, which faces the courtyard, is maintained by rooftop air-cooled equipment.
- Split system air-cooled air-conditioning units are utilized in the penthouse office suite.
- Installation also included a Staefa electronic building automation system.
Bellevue Square

This 1,425,000 sq. ft. design/build encompassed 2,075 tons of cooling systems and 400 HVAC units. With these renovations, over $850,000 in rebates were obtained from the local utility company.
Project Overview
- The basic HVAC system included 1,000 tons of multiple rooftop self-contained heat pump units.
- The installation included a complete smoke evacuation system for both the public mall and retail areas.
- The rooftop electric units were replaced with heat pump units.
- The parking garage was also expanded, including 34 garage drains and a sand/oil interceptor.

Each of the two buildings was design/builds for HVAC and plumbing systems.
Project Overview
- The Seattle store measures over 120,350 sq. ft. and has eight gas-fired unit heaters.
- The 136,000 sq. ft. Bellevue store has three exhaust fans and 243 cooling tons.
- Both stores have 97,200 supply air CFM, along with 13 rooftop units.
Northtown Mall

This expansion/renovation covered 575,000 sq. ft. and included designing and installing a complete HVAC system. An added complication entailed completely the project while keeping the mall open and operational at all times.
Project Overview
- While adding a second floor to the entire mall, the project also adding a new temperature control system with retrofitting some of the existing mechanical services.
- 55 rooftop units and 526,000 supply air CFM were installed along with 1,350 tons of cooling tonnage.

Multiple stores in Washington and OregonMacDonald-Miller: Mechanical Engineer
18 stores, ranging from 12,000 to 14,000 sq. ft., received custom designed and installed HVAC and plumbing systems. Building envelope analyses were performed to ensure each space was compliant with state energy codes.
Westlake Center
Seattle, WAMacDonald-Miller: Mechanical Contractor
This 240,000 sq. ft. project spanned four floors and included the design/build for a complete mechanical system.
